drystone walling & timber framing

Our Focus

Devin & Brett

Devin and Brett met in NH during their first Stone Trust drystone walling weekend course. They were both surprised to learn that two individuals from Scituate, RI, had signed up for a drystone walling class early Saturday morning! Since then, Devin and Brett have continued taking courses at the Stone Trust and the Northford Timber Framers in CT.

After years of developing their skills and relationships, they have offered their services to those interested in Rhode Island.

The Stone Trust Inc. is a rapidly growing registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides education, training, and consulting services.  We advocate for preserving existing drystone walls and promote using the correct structural standards for the construction and restoration of drystone walls.

The Stone Trust organizes its curriculum to incorporate the worldwide industry standards developed by the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain (DSWA-GB).  Certified DSWA-GB instructors and examiners facilitate workshops and certification tests at The Stone Trust Center.

Northford Trained

Northford Timber Framers, Inc. is a volunteer-driven, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving the art of traditional timber framing while making a meaningful impact in our community. Through immersive education, we teach the historic craftsmanship of 18th and 19th-century square-rule timber framing, offering classroom instruction, hands-on fabrication with antique and modern tools, and traditional barn and home raisings.

Our fundraising efforts support organ transplant patients, veterans, cancer survivors, animal rescues, food pantries, and other vital causes. Every structure we raise stands as a symbol of resilience, history, and hope - ensuring that our work honors the past and strengthens the future.
